Root Chakra Affirmations

Karen and I have been facilitating an amazing and healing Rose Meditation for the past couple of weeks. Having not used it for awhile it was time to brush up on the different Chakras and their effects when balanced and unbalanced on our thoughts, emotions and physical well being. How awesome to reconnect with the energy of our Chakras! I found out that I am in great need of balancing my energy fields.  Because our Rose Mediation class is presently full and by invitation only I am going to share a very basic meditation and mantra with you so that you may also benefit from the process.

The Root Chakra is located at the base of the spine, the bottom of your tailbone. This Chakra is red in color and is associated with the basic primal needs of individuals. These include, grounding, food, shelter, safety, survival and support.  When in balance it provides the foundation for self-reliance, abundance, vitality, trust and optimism.

While considering that it is the first chakra, the root, it is easy to understand that this chakra provides us a base upon which to build our lives. The root chakra correlates to the earth element and therefore this is where we ground ourselves to Mother Earth.

If there is an imbalance in the root chakra you may experience feelings of insecurity, recurrent and multiple medical conditions without any discernable cause, sexual dysfunction, and excessive negativity to  name a few.

It does not matter if you call that higher power, Consciousness, Mother Nature, God, or Spirit. Connection to universal energy will bring you a sense of peace and stability. We function better when we have trust that our basic needs will be met.

To feel your connection to the earth, either sit with your feet or hips planted firmly on the floor; stand with your feet shoulder-width apart; or walk with your feet firmly on the ground. Envision an orb of red energy at the base of your spine. Feel the energy at the base of your spine grow and become more vibrant as you repeat the mantra. You can also focus on the image at the top of the blog when you repeat your mantra or strike a yoga pose for the base chakra while focusing. Burn a little patchouli or put some in or on a diffuser. THis really worked for me.

Choose from one of these Mantras and repeat with intention as often as you can. You can interchange “I feel” with “I am”, “I have”,  and ” I live”.

I Am Safe
I Am Abundant
I Am Strong
I Am Stable
I Am Secure
I Am Courageous
I Am grounded
I Am protected
I Am secure
